1-Watt VM-500 Series Transmitters
Simplicity and Versatility in Utility Locating.

The 1-Watt VM-500 Series Transmitters by Vivax-Metrotech are versatile tools designed for accurate detection and tracing of buried utilities. These transmitters offer one induction frequency, three direct connect frequencies, and an additional 8kHz fault-find frequency, enabling operators to locate ground-to-sheath faults when used with the VM-510FFL+ Fault Locator. LED indicators display the selected frequency, output level, and battery status, while an audio indicator provides feedback on connection quality.
Weighing approximately 1.57 lbs (0.78 kg), the transmitters feature a rugged, ergonomic design with an IP54 rating, ensuring durability in various field conditions. They can apply locate signals through direct connection, induction, or optional induction clamps, offering flexibility across different locating scenarios. The transmitters are powered by four D-cell alkaline batteries, providing up to 28 hours of continuous use at full power and up to 150 hours on low power settings.
The VM-500 Series Transmitters are compatible with VM-500 Series Utility Locators, which detect buried pipes and cables using passive power locating frequencies (50/60Hz) and active frequencies (512/640Hz, 8.19kHz, 83.1kHz). This compatibility ensures efficient and accurate utility detection for professionals in various industries.
