Transmitter Signal Clamps
A signal clamp (also called a ring clamp or coupler) provides an efficient and safe way to apply a locate signal to a buried utility — no direct connection required. Vivax-Metrotech offers a full range to fit utilities of every diameter: 2 in/50 mm, 4 in/100 mm, 5 in/125 mm, a 5 in/125 mm SiS clamp, 9 in/230 mm and a flexible 18 in/450 mm.
Clamp mode is selected automatically the moment the clamp is plugged into a Loc, Loc3 or VM series transmitter, with a clamp icon on the transmitter display confirming the connection. The 5 in SiS clamp adds low-frequency Signal Select (SiS) and Signal Direction (SD) for positive line identification in congested areas.
Every clamp uses a Kevlar-reinforced cable in an IP65 housing, and the 2, 4, 5 and 9 in clamps accept the optional clamp extension rod for hard-to-reach lines.
